Spring Training

Spring Training has started once again. Pitchers and catchers from all teams in the league have reported to training facilities from California to Florida. Position players are expected to report in the following weeks. The main stories surrounding this year's Spring Training have involved new faces in new places. Prince Fielder now has a home in Detroit, and the biggest story is that "El Hombre", Albert Pujols, left St. Louis the year after winning the World Series and went to the Los Angeles Angels.
Spring Training is the most hopeful time of the year for every team. Everybody believes that their team has a legitimate shot at winning the World Series, whether they are coming off a 100 win season, or didn't even make the playoffs. Some teams are rebuilding, some are trying to keep the same personnel as they had last year. Everybody is trying to get better. And this is the time to do it. Once the season starts, games are played almost every day, so it's hard to get practice in. If you need to work on something, now's the time.

Technology I Couldn't Live Without

One technology I couldn’t live without is my iPod. There are so many uses for it, and I use it all the time, wherever I am. It is pretty old, though. It is a third generation, eight-gigabyte iPod Touch. I can’t believe it has lasted this long.

It may be old, but it still works just fine. I use it the most to listen to music. I love listening to music. It is great on long bus trips for away games. I can just put on my headphones and relax. I listen mostly to alternative and rock, but I’ll listen to about anything. I also listen when I’m working out or doing work or something. It gets me pumped up or makes work go faster.

I also like playing games on my iPod. Right now I play Temple Run and Words With Friends a lot. It’s really addicting. I don’t just use the games apps, though. There are a ton of apps that I use all the time to figure something out or research something. My iPod is always right next to me so I can use it if I have to.
