Start of Summer

Summer is starting soon. It's hard to believe that the school year is already over. It keeps going faster and faster each year. I'm not complaining, though.
This summer I don't really have a whole lot planned. Baseball will take up most of the summer, and that's fine by me. I love playing baseball. I'm a catcher. It gets pretty hot behind the plate later on in the summer, but I still like it. We play 3 games a week most of the time, so I won't have a whole lot of time to do other stuff. I want to try to get to the pool more than once, which is how many times I went last year.
In July, the MLB All Star Game and Home Run Derby are in Kansas City. I would love to try to go to that, and we don't have baseball games on those days. Unfortunately, the tickets are ridiculously expensive, so it's not looking good. Then, as soon as baseball is over, we have the Central Football Camp for 3 days. After that, real practice starts, and then school starts again. It seems short when I write it all out like this, but hopefully, I can make it last.

Photoshop Before/After

I chose Starlin Castro because he is my favorite baseball player right now. This image let me highlight all of the Cubs colors.

I thought that this picture was pretty cool. The lake reflects the mountain and stuff, and it turned out pretty good.

If I were a Television Producer...

TV these days kind of sucks. Almost every show seems like the same thing. I guess it would be great if you are obsessed with super serious cops, or wise-cracking cops, or troubled cops, or cops in exotic places, or cops with amnesia, or maybe even psychic cops, but if you want to watch literally anything else, it seems you're out of luck. If I were in charge of making a show, I would want to make something like nothing else on TV.
The best shows are the ones that have something nobody else has. The Walking Dead has zombies. SportsCenter has sports. Any new show needs something new and exciting. I would find that new thing and market it like crazy. If their is enough hype built up for it, it doesn't matter how good it is for the first few episodes, the ratings will be there. If their isn't very good quality though, you'll lose everybody after the first episodes. So I'll have to make sure the show is good enough to keep an audience. If I can do that, I'll be gold, and America will have a new, good show.

Spring Training

Spring Training has started once again. Pitchers and catchers from all teams in the league have reported to training facilities from California to Florida. Position players are expected to report in the following weeks. The main stories surrounding this year's Spring Training have involved new faces in new places. Prince Fielder now has a home in Detroit, and the biggest story is that "El Hombre", Albert Pujols, left St. Louis the year after winning the World Series and went to the Los Angeles Angels.
Spring Training is the most hopeful time of the year for every team. Everybody believes that their team has a legitimate shot at winning the World Series, whether they are coming off a 100 win season, or didn't even make the playoffs. Some teams are rebuilding, some are trying to keep the same personnel as they had last year. Everybody is trying to get better. And this is the time to do it. Once the season starts, games are played almost every day, so it's hard to get practice in. If you need to work on something, now's the time.

Technology I Couldn't Live Without

One technology I couldn’t live without is my iPod. There are so many uses for it, and I use it all the time, wherever I am. It is pretty old, though. It is a third generation, eight-gigabyte iPod Touch. I can’t believe it has lasted this long.

It may be old, but it still works just fine. I use it the most to listen to music. I love listening to music. It is great on long bus trips for away games. I can just put on my headphones and relax. I listen mostly to alternative and rock, but I’ll listen to about anything. I also listen when I’m working out or doing work or something. It gets me pumped up or makes work go faster.

I also like playing games on my iPod. Right now I play Temple Run and Words With Friends a lot. It’s really addicting. I don’t just use the games apps, though. There are a ton of apps that I use all the time to figure something out or research something. My iPod is always right next to me so I can use it if I have to.

2nd Semester So Far

Looks like the 2nd semester is going to be pretty decent. We got off to a great start in Computer Lit with the Landshark providing the entertainment. Seriously, watching the kid try to connect to the server was the high point of my day.
